Tuesday Thunder is about empowering small businesses and independent contractors. The empowerment comes from other small business owners and operators and other independent contractors who have encountered a situation or opportunity and have successfully navigated that event.
The idea behind Tuesday Thunder is to keep participation local and global. If you want to have a meetup you can. If you want to have a conference call you can do that, too. If you want to have an online session – go for it! The only thing we ask is that you share a little about the event by posting it here (you can get an account simply by clicking on the Organizer tab in the menu bar).
Lightning In A Jar
I love that old phrase. Here in the US we use it to mean something very difficult to accomplish as in “you can’t catch lightning in a jar” or “you can’t keep lightning in a bottle”. Agreed it is something difficult to catch unless you know the “secrets”.
Scientists, old and young, have proven you can catch lightning in a jar and you can keep it in a bottle. Instead of standing out in the storm they did the scientific thing and created their own “lightning” inside the jar.
Lightning can be extremely powerful. I can also be destructive or creative. Just think if you could harness all the power from every lightning strike in the world in just one day! Even if the average lightning strike were only 1 megavolts at 100 amps for 20 microseconds that energy can be stepped down and stored for later use through the process of electrolysis by converting water into hydrogen and oxygen gases. That’s just one method.
Lighting Rods
In “nature” lightning rods are the path of least resistance from the source to the target. Generally from the ground to the clouds, from the clouds to the ground or from cloud to cloud. These paths of least resistance can occur naturally or they can be created from existing materials.
For our parallel it is interesting to note there are lightning rods which already exist in the business community. Those are people with good information and willing to share it with others. Then there are people who are yet to be “discovered” who also can become paths of least resistance for the transfer of “energy”. Energy in our case is knowledge, services and support.
End Results
A good example for our ultimate success is for one of our Lightning Rod Ambassadors to be contacted by a local producer who is looking to tap in to the massive grid of power that exists between networks already in operation. Our Lightning Rod would be well versed with the resources available to a start up business and be able to direct people to them and possibly even provide a consultancy service to them
It’s really just a matter of introducing people to one another and pointing people back to TuesdayThunder for our resource directory and having the ultimate compensation of having helped a new business, existing business or even a local civic organization get what they need to succeed. Lightning in a Jar.
Posting your events is half of the job and posting your solutions and resources is even more important. Just a 50 to 100 word post is often enough to say, “Hey I found really great _______ at http://____.com
